Longborough Festival Opera: Wagner / Die Walküre

A screening of Longborough's 2024 production, filmed live during the full cycle of Der Ring des Nibelungen.

 

Siegmund and Sieglinde find themselves drawn together during a storm. Unbeknown to them their father is Wotan, chief of the gods, who through Siegmund hopes to retrieve a ring of ultimate power.

 

Die Walküre is the second instalment of Der Ring des Nibelungen, Wagner's epic tale of gods, giants and heroes, and their struggles for power. The 2024 Longborough Ring was conducted by Longborough's Music Director and "veteran Wagnerian" (Sunday Times) Anthony Negus and directed by Amy Lane.
